(Photo by Wichan Charoenkiatpakul)Health authorities are awaiting the test results of 30 people in Bangkok suspected of having contracted the mosquito-borne Zika virus from 22 people recently confirmed to have been infected. The woman is said to be safe, but a check-up will be carried out to determine whether her baby has been affected by the infection, Dr Wantanee said. Along with Sathon district, authorities will be deployed to Bangkok's other 49 districts to see whether there are more people who have contracted the Zika infection, Dr Wantanee said. "Patients who develop a fever are requested not to travel to other districts, to prevent the spread of disease," Dr Wantanee said. Authorities also fumigated the breeding grounds of mosquito larvae within a 100-metre radius of the homes of the patients, Dr Wongwat said.
